John Stacey is responsible for leading Rent One Online’s marketing.  In his role, he leverages 25 years of general management, marketing and sales experience with consumer, technology, insurance and Internet companies.  John’s marketing and branding expertise combined with an understanding of effective selling for consumer products, services and new technologies have helped several companies accelerate revenue while achieving the leading market position.

John directed marketing for eHealthInsurance (EHTH) during its transition from start-up to the leading health insurance service nationally for individuals, families and small businesses.  Prior to eHealth, John was General Manager of IBM’s Consumer Software Group and President of Edmark (an IBM subsidiary) where he guided World Book to the #1 position over Microsoft Encarta.

Previously, he was Vice-President of Marketing and Sales for The Learning Company during its rise from #3 to #1 in educational software before its acquisition by SoftKey.  John also served as Vice-President of Marketing for Conner Peripherals during its growth from $250 million to $1.3 billion in revenues over 2 years.   John began his career with The Procter & Gamble Company in brand management.

John holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and received a B.S. in Economics and B.A. in French from the University of Virginia. He vacations every summer on the Outer Banks where he has rented homes for over 20 years from local property management companies.
